BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Northampton women's basketball team won their 6th consecutive game, downing Division II Mercer County Community College, 67-62, on Tuesday night at the Arthur L. Scott Spartan Center.
Brianna Morales scored 27 points and dished out 4 assists as the Spartans jumped out to an 8-point halftime lead and held on for the 5 point victory.
"It was a good game aganist a very good opponent," commented Head Coach
Art Wolfe, "it was really a tale of two halves, as both teams clamped down defensively in the second half ... luckily we had a lead, as Mercer held us to only 8 field goals in the second half."
Lauren Thompson added 10 points and Chawntell Jeffrey pulled down a team-high 8 rebounds for NCC, which improved to 8-3.
The loss drops Mercer County to 5-5 overall.
The Spartans are scheduled to host Delaware County Community College on Saturday at 12pm, however severe weather is predicted for the area which could lead to a postponement ... please follow
