BETHLEHEM, Pa. -
Brianna Morales scored a team-high 33 points as the Northampton women's basketball team downed Lehigh Carbon Community College, 87-52, on Tuesday evening at the Arthur L. Scott Spartan Center.
The anticipated showdown of undefeated conference teams never materialized as the Spartans sprinted out to a 43-26 lead at halftime and never looked back.
"We got off to a quick start and that really helped us," commented Head Coach
Art Wolfe, "we were able to get some turnovers off our press and convert into points which gave us a nice cushion."
Alaura Workman scored 12 points and
Katie Schickling added 11 as the Spartans moved to 6-3 overall and 4-0 in Region XIX. Morales added 5 assists and 5 steals for NCC.
LCCC falls to 3-3 overall and 3-1 in conference play.
The Spartans return to action on Saturday when they travel to Bucks County Community College for a conference matchup at 12pm.
