Alyssa Gibson just missed a triple-double, scoring 14 points, grabbing 10 rebounds and dishing out a season-high 9 assists as Northampton ran past Sussex County Community College, 91-34, in a non-league matchup on Thursday evening at the Arthur L. Scott Spartan Center.
Tiara Aziz scored 33, moving her within 51 points of the all-time scoring record at Northampton, and
Tyquassia Porter added 19 as the Spartans improved to 22-1 overall (9-0 EPAC). Aziz moved up to 4th on the all-time scoring list, passing Sue Thoder.
"We got off to a slow start," lamented Head Coach
Art Wolfe, "but when the girls woke up, I thought we did some good things offensively in terms of finding cutters and moving the ball. I really thought Alyssa played well ... her play is a real key to our success."
Felicia Shaner added 14 points and 10 rebounds for NCC.
Sussex falls to 1-23 overall (0-15 in GSAC play).
