BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Northampton women's basketball team opened the second semester with a convincing 75-39 victory over Harrisburg Area Community College on Saturday afternoon at the Arthur L. Scott Spartan Center.
Lauren Thompson scored 18 points and had 5 steals and
Sofia Bupivi added a team-high 14 rebounds as the Spartans improved to 6-0 in Region XIX.
Brianna Morales had 12 points,
Katie Schickling scored 17, including five 3-pointers in the first half, which helped NCC take a 39-20 lead into the intermission.
"I'm very happy with how we played, especially given the layoff," commented Head Coach
Art Wolfe, "we really struggled at Harrisburg (a 62-54 victory on November 23rd), but we executed much better today and had a very balanced attack."
Northampton, now 9-3 overall, will travel to Luzerne County Community College on Tuesday to face the Trailblazers at 6pm.
Harrisburg falls to 6-3 overall and 3-2 in Region XIX.
