BETHLEHEM, Pa. - 6th ranked Cumberland County College snapped Northampton's nine game winning streak with an 83-65 victory on Saturday afternoon at the Arthur L. Scott Spartan Center.
Brianna Morales scored 34 points and dished out 6 assists, but it wasn't enough as the Dukes' balanced attack was too much for the Spartans.
"Cumberland exposed some of our weaknesses today," remarked Northampton mentor
Art Wolfe, "they are a very talented team and really played with passion and purpose today. Â We got some nice looks in the paint, but couldn't convert and they (Cumberland) took advantage of their opportunities."
Katie Schickling added 14 points, including four 3-pointers, and Chawntell Jeffrey had a team-high 9 rebounds to pace Northampton.
Northampton, which falls to 11-4 overall, returns to action on Tuesday January 21st when they travel to Blue Bell, PA to face Montgomery County Community College at 5pm.
Cumberland improves to 17-1 overall.
