Men's Basketball Falls on the Road to Lehigh Carbon

SCHNECKSVILLE, Pa. - The Northampton men's basketball team lost a Region XIX conference matchup on Thursday evening, falling to Lehigh Carbon Community College, 87-80, at Berrier Hall.

The Spartans cut the Cougar's 13 point lead to 81-76 with 40 seconds remaining in the contest, but LCCC was able to close out the game at the foul line and earn their first victory over Northampton since joining the NJCAA.

Malcolm Lyles led Northampton with 18 points, while Tyler Krchnavi chipped in with 10 points and 9 rebounds.

Northampton falls to 11-9 overall, 7-5 in Region XIX and 9-5 in conference, while Lehigh Carbon improves to 9-9 overall, 5-6 in Region XIX and 6-6 in conference play.

The Spartans will return to action on Saturday when they host conference rival Bucks County Community College at 2pm at the Arthur L. Scott Spartan Center.
