Spartans Move to 5-4 in Conference with 89-75 Victory over Bucks County

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Northampton men's basketball team closed out the first semester with two consecutive victories, downing Bucks County Community College on Saturday afternoon, 89-75, at the Athur L. Scott Center.

Justin Escobar scored 20 points and grabbed 7 rebounds and Derek Kulp added 14 points and 8 boards as the Spartans improved to 6-7 overall and 5-4 in Region XIX.  Brandon Schlosser added 16 points off the bench, finishing 4 of 5 from behind the arc.

"It wasn't pretty, but it's nice to end the semester on a positive note," remarked Head Coach Brennan McCarthy, "I thought we did a good job on the boards, but we still had too many missed assignments defensively ... offensively we got to the line 30 times, which is a positve, but we need to shoot better than 57% from there."

Northampton returns to action on January 13th when they host Luzerne County Community College at 8pm.
