Delaware County Downs Spartans, 74-65

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Zimir Geiger scored 20 points and grabbed 22 rebounds to lead Delaware County Community College to a 74-65 win over Northampton on Saturday evening at the Arthur L. Scott Center.

Tied 26-26 at the half, Delaware shot 56% in the second half (18/32), to outscore the Spartans by nine and earn the conference victory.

"We didn't get it done defensively in the second half," lamented Head Coach Brennan McCarthy, "we gave up 14 offensive rebounds, including 9 to Geiger ... you can't give a team like Delaware that many second opportunities."

Jeremiah Coleman scored 20 points for Northampton, including a 6 for 11 performance from behind the ard, while Michael Samuel added 20 points as well.

The Spartans finished 20 of 61 from the field (33%) and 14 of 24 from the line (58%).

Northampton is back at the Arthur L. Scott Center on Tuesday night December 9th when they host Johnson College at 7pm.

The loss drops Northampton to 4-7 overall and 3-4 in conference play.

Delaware improves to 4-9 overall and 3-3 in the EPAC.
