BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Northampton men's basketball team snapped their two-game losing streak with a convincing 95-74 victory over Bucks County Community College on Saturday afternoon at the Arthur L. Scott Spartan Center.
After consecutive losses to Brookdale and Lehigh Carbon, the Spartans jumped out to a 47-36 halftime lead and never looked back. Â Five players scored in double figures;
Brent Maron 10, Robert Purnell Joe 10,
Tyler Krchnavi 12,
Astin Jones 13 and
RJ Fletcher 16.
"This was a real good win for us," stated Head Coach Mike Kaminski, "Bucks got us back in December (87-85 loss) and I think that was real motivator for the guys. Â Defensively, I was very pleased with our effort with 16 steals and a solid job on the glass and offensively we were able to spread the ball around and get scoring from everyone."
Northampton improves to 12-9 overall / 8-5 in Region XIX and 10-5 in the EPAC, while Bucks falls to 9-7 overall, 6-4 in Region XIX and 8-4 in conference.
The Spartans return to action on Thursday February 6th when they travel to downtown Newton, NJ to face the Skylanders of Sussex County Community College at 7pm.
