Schickling's 42 Leads Northampton Over Bucks County

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Katie Schickling scored 42 points, including a school record 12 3-pointers, to lead Northampton to a 102-53 victory over Bucks County Community College Saturday afternoon at the Arthur L. Scott Spartan Center.

"Katie had a remarkable day," remarked Head Coach Art Wolfe, "she shot the ball with so much confidence, and Brianna Clymer was tremendous for us inside with 14 points and 15 rebounds.  It was really a good team effort today."

Schickling's 42 points are 1 off the all-time NCC record of 43 shared by Mary Mulitsch (12/14/1990 vs. Bucks) and Sue Thoder (2/23/1996 vs. Philadelphia).

Lauren Thompson (Pine Grove) scored 25 points and Brianna Morales added 7 assists and 7 steals to pace the Spartans.

The win sends Northamton to 14-5 overall and 10-0 in Region XIX and EPAC play, while Bucks falls to 7-7 overall and 1-6 in Region XIX and conference play.  Northampton pushes their all-time Eastern Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (EPAC) record to 20-0.

Northampton returns to the hardwood on Thursday February 6th when they travel to Newton, NJ to face the Sussex Skylanders at 5pm.
