Philadelphia Rallies to Top Northampton on Sophomore Night

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Community College of Philadelphia rallied from a 14 point halftime deficit to earn an 84-77 victory and spoil sophomore night at Northampton on Wednesday at the Arthur L. Scott Spartan Center.

Brent Maron scored a career-high 27 points, including eight 3-pointers and Malcolm Lyles added 14 to lead the Spartans.

"It seems like we hit a wall tonight," commented Head Coach Mike Kaminski, "we lost our defensive intensity ... as good as we were in the first half, we were equally as bad in the second half."

The game marked the last regular season home game for sophomores Brent Maron, Tyler Krchnavi, Robert Purnell-Joe and Malcolm Lyles.

The loss drops Northampton to 13-11 overall, while Philadelphia improved to 12-5 with the victory.

The Spartans close out the regular season on February 18th when they travel to Toms River, NJ to face Ocean County College.
