Men's Basketball Wins Second Straight, Downs Sussex 87-58

NEWTON, NJ - The Northampton men's basketball team won their second straight game, downing Sussex County Community College 87-58, on Thursday evening to improve to 13-9 on the season.

Malcolm Lyles scored 20 points, Derek Kulp added 12, Astin Jones 11 and Brent Maron 10 as the Spartans placed four players in double figures.

"Good overall team effort tonight," commented Head Coach Mike Kaminski, "any road victory in this region is a good win, so we are happy to return to Bethlehem with a W."

Tyler Krchnavi had a team-high 9 rebounds, Josh Kaiser added 8 and Robert Purnell Joe dished out 5 assists for NCC, which travels to Delaware County Community College on Saturday to face the Phantoms at Widener College.  Delaware is currently in first place in the Eastern Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (EPAC) with a 12-0 record (22-4 overall) while Northampton is currently third at 8-5.

Sussex falls to 2-24 overall.
