NEWTON, NJ - Chawntell Jeffrey scored 10 points and grabbed 18 rebounds to help lead Northampton to a 76-48 victory over Sussex County Community College on Thursday evening in NJCAA women's basketball action.
Katie Schickling, fresh off her record-setting 12 3-pointers vs. Bucks County Community College on Saturday, hit 6 more triples to give her 74 for the season, tying the school record set by Melanie Palko during the 2010-11 season. Schickling, who led NCC with 22 points, now has 131 3-pointers for her career at Northampton, leaving her only 8 away from the record of 139 held by Ashley Capozzolo (2006-08).
Lauren Thompson added 21 points and
Sofia Bupivi chipped in with 10 to pace the Spartan offense.
Northampton, which jumped out to a 35-11 halftime lead, improved to 15-5 overall. Sussex County falls to 5-20 on the season.
Northampton returns to action on Saturday when they travel to Delaware County Community College to face the Phantoms at Widener College.
