Box Score BLUE BELL, Pa. - The Northampton women's basketball team remained undefeated in Region XIX play at 4-0 with an 85-41 victory over Montgomery County Community College on Tuesday evening at Bach Arena.
The Spartans jumped out to a 23-2 first quarter lead and never looked back in taking a 35 point lead (48-13) into the locker room at halftime. "I thought we did a really good job rebounding the ball tonight," stated Head Coach
Tara Belfield, "we really have been emphasizing rebounding in practice and it showed tonight, I was very proud of the effort of our post players."
Amber Farnholtz (Northampton, PA/Northampton ), who leads Nothampton in scoring, had a game-high 23 points,
Zeniyah Sanders (Northampton, PA/Northampton ) scored 11 points and grabbed 15 rebounds, while
Jenesa Fields (Broadheadsville, PA /Pleasant Valley) hauled down a team-high 16 rebounds.
Julia Craig (Saylorsburg, PA/Pleasant Valley), who is 8th in the country in assists at 6.3 per game, had 10 assists and 5 steals to pace the Spartans in both categories.
Northampton improves to 6-2 overall, 4-0 in Region XIX and 3-0 in the EPAC.
Montgomery falls to 1-5 overall and 1-2 in conference play.
The Spartans now have a week off before returning to action on November 24th when they host EPAC foe Harrsiburg Area Community College at 6pm.
