Spartans Down Cougars 60-30 to Remain Undefeated in Region XIX

Box Score SCHNECKSVILLE, Pa. - The Northampton women's basketball team jumped out to an early 20-8 lead behind the play of Jenesa Fields (Brodheadsville, PA /Pleasant Valley) and never looked back in defeating Lehigh Carbon Community College, 60-30, on Tuesday evening at Berrier Hall.

Fields finished with 10 points and 10 rebounds, while Deanna McKeller and Asia Morton (Easton, PA/Easton ) also had 10 rebounds each. Tytiona Goodwin (Allentown, PA /Dieruff) came off the bench to score 10 points, while Julia Craig (Saylorsburg, PA/Pleasant Valley) dished out 6 assists and Kye Adams (East Stroudsburg, PA /East Stroudsburg South ) had 4 steals.

"I thought we did a good job defensively tonight," stated Head Coach Tara Belfield, "we were quick to the ball and did a good job controlling the boards."

The victory moves Northampton to 8-2 overall, 6-0 in Region XIX and 5-0 in conference play.

Lehigh Carbon falls to 2-5 overall, 2-1 in Region XIX and 2-1 in EPAC play.

Northampton returns to action on Thursday when they host Camden County College at 6pm at the Arthur L. Scott Center.
