BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Brookdale Jersey Blues outscored Northampton 46-28 in the second half to overcome a one-point halftime deficit and earn a 74-57 victory on Friday night at the Arthur L. Scott Center.
Poor shooting plagued Northampton in the second half, as the Spartans only managed a paltry 9 of 36 (25%) from the field. "It wasn't a lack of effort," commented Head Coach
Brennan McCarthy, "I thought the guys played hard and they really held their own their boards, despite the size disadvantage. We struggled shooting the ball tonight and that caught up with us in the second half."
Bryson Walton (Allentown, PA /William Allen ) led Northampton with 14 points, while
Eriq Washington (Philadelphia, PA/Mastery Charter ) added 10.
D'Montie Shaw (York, PA/William Penn ) added 9 points and a team-high 8 rebounds.
The loss drops Northampton to 6-8 overall and 4-8 in Region XIX as they head to winter break.
Brookdale improves to 10-3 overall and 8-3 in Region XIX.
Northampton is now off until January 12th when they travel to Luzerne County Community College.
