Sanders' Last Second Shot Leads Northampton over RCGC

SEWELL, NJ - Freshman Zeniyah Sanders hit a jump shot with 3.8 seconds remaining to give the Northampton women's basketball team a 63-62 victory over Rowan College @ Gloucester County on Thursday evening at Case Arena.

Sanders, who finished with 16 points, took a pass from Lauren Thompson (7 assists) and calmly sunk the winning basket, as the Spartans knocked off the Roadrunners for the second time this season.

"It was a great game," stated Head Coach Art Wolfe, "I thought both teams played very well, it basically came down to one play and Z was able to knock down the winning basket."

Nicole Amann led Northampton with 18 points and Paige Priestas had 9 rebounds as the Spartans improved to 18-7 overall and 10-2 in Region XIX.

The Spartans, who are looking to secure a top seed for the upcoming Region XIX Tournament, travel to league-leading Cumberland on Saturday to close out the regular season.

RCGC falls to 12-10 overall and 10-7 in Region XIX with the loss.
