Box Score SCHNECKSVILLE, Pa. - The Northampton women's basketball team improved to 3-0 in Region XIX with a convincing 79-46 victory over Lehigh Carbon Community College on Thursday evening at Berrier Hall. The win moved the Spartans to 9-0 all-time vs. LCCC since joining the NJCAA.
The Spartans jumped out to an 18-6 lead at the end of the first quarter and extended that lead to 44-16 at the break, before coasting home to the 33-point victory.
Dom Moser (Easton, PA/Easton ) scored 26 points, while
Deana McKeller (East Stroudsburg, PA/E. Stroudsburg South) recorded another double-double with 10 points and 12 rebounds and
Kye Adams (East Stroudsburg, PA/E. Stroudsburg South ) added 10 points off the bench.
"It was the best start we have had this year," commented Head Coach
Tara Belfield, "we got out the gate quickly and never looked back. Defensively,
Tytiona Goodwin (Allentown, PA/Dieruff ) did a great job on Wynonna Wo, holding her to 7 points, 11 below her season average."
The Spartans, now 4-2 overall, are off until Tuesday November 22nd when they travel to Cumberland County College to face the Dukes at 5pm.
Lehigh Carbon falls to 1-1 in Region XIX and 2-5 overall.
The Spartans will take part in the "Lets Get Tropical" Event on Monday night from 7pm to 8:30 ... the event is free and open to all students at NCC.
