BETHLEHEM, Pa. - An early 3 minute unreleasable penalty for an illegal stick allowed defending Region XIX champion Brookdale to jump out to a 5-0 lead and the Spartans never recovered, falling 21-2 on Saturday to the Jersey Blues.
Northampton, coming off their first victory of the season on Wednesday, didn't look like the same team, "Unfortunately, part of the process of building a program is players understanding what it takes to be mentally prepared following a win," stated Head Coach
Joe Lodato. Â
Cameron James (Hawley, PA/Wallenpaupack) made 12 saves in the goal, while
Alec Lloyd (York, PA/York Catholic) and
Steely Wellen (Easton, PA /Easton ) each scored 1 goal to pace the offense. Â
The loss drops Northampton to 1-8 overall and 1-4 in Region XIX.Â
Brookdale improves to 6-4 overall and 3-2 in Region XIX.
Northampton will host Valley Forge Military College on Wednesday at 3:30pm in their last game of the season.Â
