Box Score BLUE BELL, Pa. - The Northampton men's basketball team continued to hit on all cylinders on the offensive end, dominating Montgomery County Community College, 98-53, on Thursday evening at the Bach Convocation Center. The Spartans, who are 3-1 since semester break, are averaging 99.2 points per game in January.
All eight Spartans scored, with five finishing in double figures, as Northampton swept the season series from the Mustangs.
Jerrel Burke (Morrisville, PA/Pennsbury ) and
Tyerell Mann (East Stroudsburg, PA /Notre Dame - East Stroudsburg ) each scored 20 points,
Justin Kusiappouh (East Stroudsburg, PA /East Stroudsburg North ) had 15 and
Isiah Hinton-Gray (Allentown, PA/William Allen ) added 14 to pace the Spartan attack. "I thought we did a good job tonight getting out on the break and looking for the open man," remarked Head Coach
Brennan McCarthy, "our offense has really improved this semester, and aside from a poor defensive effort in the second half vs. Ocean, I really like what I've seen from these guys since we came back from break."
The win propels Northampton to 10-8 overall, 8-5 in Region XIX and 8-3 in the EPAC.
Montgomery falls to 7-12 overall, 7-9 in Region XIX and 7-7 in conference play.
The Spartans are now off until Tuesday January 31st when they travel to the state capital to face the Hawks of Harrisburg Area Community College at 8pm.
