BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Northampton men's basketball team snapped their two-game losing streak with a 93-83 victory over Luzerne County Community College on Thursday evening at the Arthur L. Scott Spartan Center.
Arnel Lewis (Easton, Pa. /Easton) scored 23 points and dished out 9 assists and
Isiah Hinton-Gray (Allentown, Pa./William Allen ) added 17 points and 13 rebounds for the the victorious Spartans.
"Not our best effort of the year, but we did shoot 54% from the field and outrebound them by 18," remarked Head Coach
Brennan McCarthy, "always a tough game against Luzerne, they are a scrappy group."
David Williams (Bethlehem, Pa./Freedom ) added 15 rebounds and
Elijah Barrett (Harrisburg, Pa. /Harrisburg) recorded 4 blocked shots for Northampton.
The win moves Northampton to 11-2 overall, 8-1 in Region XIX and 7-1 in the EPAC as they head to semester break.
Luzerne falls to 5-9 overall, 5-5 in Region XIX and 5-4 in conference play.
The Spartans return to action on January 16th when they host Johnson College at 7pm.
