TANNERSVILLE, Pa. - All eight members of the Northampton men's basketball team scored at least two points and the Spartans assisted on 26 of their 36 field goals in downing Sussex County Community College, 88-56, on Tuesday evening at Pocono Hall on the Tannersville campus of Northampton Community College.
The Spartans shot 53.7% for the game and forced Sussex into 25 turnovers, improving to 8-1 since returning from semester break. Northampton had four players in double figures with 19 from
Jerrel Burke (Morrisville, PA/Pennsbury ), 18 from
Tyerell Mann (East Stroudsburg, PA /Notre Dame - East Stroudsburg ), 15 from
Isiah Hinton-Gray (Allentown, PA/William Allen ) and 10 from
Edwin Lopez (East Stroudsburg, PA /Stroudsburg ).
Juan Perez-Jones (Morrisville, PA/Pennsbury ) dished out 11 assists and recorded 5 steals and
Justin Kellman (Reading, PA /Reading ) snared 9 rebounds for the Spartans.
The win improves Northampton to 15-8 overall and 13-5 in Region XIX.
Sussex falls to 1-26 overall and 1-21 in Region XIX.
The Spartans host Delaware County Community College in a crucial match-up on Thursday evening at 7:30pm at the Arthur L. Scott Center. That match-up is the first of two for the EPAC rivals in a matter of 5 days, with the EPAC title up for grabs.
