Alvarez's Monster Night Leads Northampton Over Delaware

Box Score BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Freshman Katie Alvarez (Allentown, PA /Dieruff) scored 31 points and grabbed 21 rebounds to lead Northampton to a 106-49 victory over Delaware County Community College on Thursday evening at the Arthur L. Scott Center. 

Alvarez shot a blistering 15 of 20 from the and 1 for 2 from the line, as the Spartans as a team finished at 45% shooting from the floor (46/102).  The Spartans held a decisive advantage on the boards, outrebounding the Phantoms 70 to 21, with Deana McKeller (East Stroudsburg, PA/E. Stroudsburg South) pulling down 14 rebounds.  Tytiona Goodwin (Allentown, PA/Dieruff ) added 11 points, 11 rebounds, 9 assists and 6 steals in a tremendous all-around performance. 

The Spartans honored their four sophomores prior to the game, as McKeller, Goodwin, Kye Adams (East Stroudsburg, PA/E. Stroudsburg South ) (11points) and Kaitlyn Cappetta (Nazareth, PA/Nazareth) (11 points) played their final regular season home game. 

Northampton, now 16-5 overall, travels to Middlesex County College (18-5) on Saturday for a showdown of two of the Region's top teams. Game time in Edison, NJ is set for 12pm.
