BETHLEHEM, Pa. -
Isiah Hinton-Gray (Allentown, PA/William Allen ) put the Northampton men's basketball team on his back down the stretch vs. Ocean County College, leading the Spartans to a 95-81 victory and a berth in the Region XIX Final Four on Saturday March 4th at Brookdale Community College.
Hinton-Gray finished with 26 points, 13 rebounds and 5 blocked shots, including a put-back dunk with just over a minute to play to clinch the victory. "Isiah was a man out there tonight," echoed Head Coach
Brennan McCarthy, "he really stepped up and took over when Ocean made their run late in the game."
Juan Perez-Jones (Morrisville, PA/Pennsbury ) had 16 points and 6 assists,
Tyerell Mann (East Stroudsburg, PA /Notre Dame - East Stroudsburg ) had 17 points,11 rebounds and 5 assists and
Jerrel Burke (Morrisville, PA/Pennsbury ) tossed in 14 for the Spartans.
"I thought our work on the boards really was a factor tonight," remarked McCarthy, "we outrebounded them 56-38 and were able to utilize our strength inside to get some great looks on the offensive end."
The win moves 3rd seeded Northampton to 19-8 overall, while 6th seeded Ocean finishes 18-13.
The Spartans will face 2nd seeded Brookdale at 7:30pm on Saturday March 4th at Collins Arena at Brookdale Community College in Lincroft, NJ.
