Moser Scores 39 as Spartans Win 7th Straight

Box Score NANTICOKE, Pa. - Dom Moser (Easton, Pa./Easton ) scored 39 points to lead the Northampton women's basketball team to a 63-35 victory over Luzerne County Community College on Tuesday evening at the Trailblazer Center.  

Northampton, which has now won 7 consecutive games, outrebounded Luzerne 63-35.  "Our rebounding and defense were the keys tonight." commented Head Coach Alyssa Bonenberger, "we really struggled to shoot it again tonight (33%), but our defensive pressure and our work ethic on the boards was enough to overcome our poor shooting performance."

The Spartans held Luzerne to just 10 field goals in the game on 17% shooting from the floor. 

Laura Sweger (Elizabethville, Pa./Upper Dauphin ) added 8 points and a game-high 15 rebounds, while Jada Holland (Laurel, MD/Springbrook (MD)) chipped in with 6 points and 12 boards.  Nicole Robinson (Bangor, Pa./Bangor ) had a team-high 6 assists and pulled down 11 rebounds. 

Northampton improves to 9-5 overall, 6-1 in Region XIX and 5-0 in the EPAC. 

Luzerne falls to 2-16 overall, 2-9 in the Region and 2-6 in conference play. 

Northampton is now 12-0 all-time vs. Luzerne County. 

The Spartans are back in action on Thursday night when they travel to Blue Bell, Pa. to face Montgomery County Community College at 5pm.
