PHILADELPHIA, Pa. -
Ashley Robinson (East Stroudsburg, PA/East Stroudsburg South) scored 15 points, but it wasn't enough as the Northampton women's basketball team fell to the Community College of Philadelphia, 62-45, on Saturday afternoon.
The Colonials, who led 31-20 at halftime, were led by Jakrya Stamps, who scored 16 points.
Jade Biviano (Catasauqua, PA/Catasauqua ) scored 10 points and grabbed 6 rebounds and
Briana Petersen (East Stroudsburg, PA/East Stroudsburg North) added 8 rebounds to pace the Spartans.
"We had some improvement today in a number of areas," remarked Head Coach
Alyssa Bonenberger, "but we can't miss 14 free throws and expect to win ... there are still some simple fundamental areas that we need to tighten up."
The loss drops Northampton to 0-3 overall and 0-1 in Region XIX.
The Spartans are now off for 10 days before hosting Penn St. Lehigh Valley on November 20th at 6pm.
