BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Northampton women's basketball team dropped an EPAC matchup to Harrisburg Area Community College, 62-41, on Saturday afternoon at the Arthur L. Scott Center.
The Spartans were led by
Ashley Robinson (East Stroudsburg, PA/East Stroudsburg South) with 15 points and 9 rebounds and Brianna Petersen added 13 points and 7 rebounds.
Poor shooting from the field once again plagued the Spartans, who finished 14 of 68 from the floor (20%) and 9 of 21 from the foul line (43%).
"Obviously winning is the ultimate goal," remarked Head Coach
Alyssa Bonenberger, "but I saw some real positives today ... I thought our energy throughout the game was good and defensively we did a good job forcing 25 turnovers."
Montana Cassaro (Bangor, PA/Bangor) hauled down a team-high 10 rebounds, but the Spartans lost the battle on the boards, 54-46.
The loss drops Northampton to 0-7 overall, 0-4 in Region XIX and 0-3 in the EPAC.
Harrisburg improves to 3-2 overall, 3-1 in Region XIX and 2-1 in conference play.
The Spartans are back in action on Tuesday when they host Camden County College at 5:30pm.
