BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Northampton placed seven players in double figures as the Spartans raced past Luzerne County Community College,127-66, at the Arthur L. Scott Center on Tuesday evening.
Jay Davis (Northwest, PA/Hatboro-Horsham), who scored his 1000th career point in the first half, finished with 32 points in just 23 minutes of action. Davis was 13 of 18 from the field, including a 6 for 6 effort from behind the arc.
Elijah Barrett (Harrisburg, PA/Harrisburg) and
Tony James (Harrisburg, PA/Harrisburg) each recorded double-doubles, with Barrett finishing with 16 points and 12 rebounds and James adding 14 points and 13 boards.
D'Andre Davis (York, PA/York Catholic),
Arnel Lewis (Easton, PA/Easton) and
Nasir Scott (Elkins Park, PA/Boy's Latin of Philidelphia) each had 12 points and
Raylil Law-Winton (Fairless Hills, PA/Pennsbury) had 10 to round out the Spartans in double-figures.
Lewis had a team-high 7 assists as the Spartans finished with 30 assists on 55 field goals.
The Spartans shot 61% from the field (55/90) and 63% from distance (12/19) on their way to the century mark for the 8th time this season.
The win moves Northampton to 13-5 overall, 12-3 in Region XIX and 10-2 in the EPAC.
Luzerne falls to 3-17 overall, 3-12 in Region XIX and 2-10 in conference play.
Northampton returns to action on Saturday when they travel to Harrisburg to face the Hawks, with tip-off scheduled for 3:00pm.
