BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Northampton men's basketball team jumped out to an early lead over 4th seeded Harrisburg Area Community College in the EPAC semi-finals, and never looked back, advancing to the championship game with an 85-68 victory on Saturday at the Arthur L. Scott Center.
Jay Davis (Northwest, PA/Hatboro-Horsham) scored 22 points and
Arnel Lewis (Easton, PA/Easton) added 18 points and 5 assists for Northampton, while
Elijah Barrett (Harrisburg, PA/Harrisburg) finished with 11 points and 8 rebounds.
"We jumped on them early, but then we kinda took our foot off the gas," remarked Head Coach
Brennan McCarthy, "I thought we regrouped at halftime and had a better sustained effort in the second half."
The win moves Northampton to 19-7 overall as they advance to Sunday's EPAC Championship game vs. the winner of #2 Thaddeus Stevens College vs. 3rd seed Community College of Philadelphia. Game time on Sunday is set for 1pm.
Jordan Lynch-Rexroth led Harrisburg (13-12) with 20 points.
