Box Score VINELAND, Nj. – The Spartans twelve game winning streak came to an end as they fell to the Dukes of Cumberland County, 97-87, on Tuesday evening at the Cunningham Center.
The Spartans shot 45% (33/73) from the field, 66% (12/18) from behind the line, and 30% (9/30) from behind the three-point arc.
Jay Davis (Northwest, PA/Hatboro-Horsham) led the Spartans offensive attack with a game-high of 42 points and 10 rebounds, while Elijah Barrett (Harrisburg, PA/Harrisburg) and Arnel Lewis (Easton, PA/Easton) added 14 points each. Tony James (Harrisburg, PA/Harrisburg) chipped in 8 points and pulled down 14 rebounds.Â
 "I'm proud of my team for battling hard tonight," said head coach Brennan McCarthy, "but we simply can't give up 97 points and expect to come home with a victory. Cumberland played hard for all forty minutes tonight and continued to make tough shot after tough shot."
Three Cumberland players, Taylor Clarke (23 points), Kevin Clark (22 points) and Phil Cisrow (21 points), finished with double-figures.
The loss drops Northampton to 16-6 overall and 15-4 in Region XIX.
Cumberland County improves to 15-7 overall and 13-7 in Region XIX.
The Spartans will be back in action Thursday night when they host the Skylanders of Sussex County College in the Arthur L. Scott Center.
