MEDIA, Pa. - The 7th ranked Northampton men's basketball team returned to their winning ways on Saturday, downing Delaware County Community College, 86-71, at Williamson College.
Tony James (Harrisburg, PA/Harrisburg ) led the Spartans with 20 points, 17 rebounds and 6 steals, while
Michael Jackson (West Lawn, PA/Wilson West Lawn) added 19 points and 3 assists.
"I thought we did a good job overall," remarked Head Coach
Brennan McCarthy, "we did a good job winning the battle on the backboards and defensively we were able to hold them to 36% shooting from the floor."
D'Andre Davis (York, PA/York Catholic ) chipped in with 15 points and 8 rebounds, as the Spartans finished with a 46-32 rebounding advantage.
The win moved the Spartans to 16-2 overall, 12-2 in Region XIX and 9-1 in the EPAC.
Delaware falls to 7-8 overall, 4-7 in the the Region and 4-6 in the conference.
The Spartans are back in action on Monday night when they host GSAC member RCSJ-Cumberland at 7pm.
