Box Score BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Northampton women's basketball team dropped a Region XIX crossover game on Tuesday, falling to Bergen Community College (NJ), 71-56, at the Arthur L. Scott Center. 

Briona McClain (Stroudsburg, PA /Pocono Mt. West ) led the Spartans with 18 points and 10 rebounds, while Briana Petersen (East Stroudsburg, PA /East Stroudsburg North ) also recorded a double-double with 12 points and 10 boards. 

"We never could get over the hump," remarked Head Coach Alyssa Bonenberger, "we had a great start (early 12-2 lead), fell behind at the half by 12 and then battled back to within 5 twice in the second half, but just couldn't get that big basket or big stop we needed."

Kelsey Miller (Phillipsburg, NJ/Phillipsburg (NJ)) finished with 13 points, including 3 three-pointers, while Montana Cassaro (Bangor, PA /Bangor) had 8 points and 6 rebounds. 

The loss drops Northampton to 9-10 overall and 2-8 in Region XIX.

Bergen improves to 14-8 overall and 11-6 in Region XIX. 

The Spartans hit the road on Thursday as they travel to Newton, NJ to face Sussex County Community College at 5pm.
