CHARLOTTE, NC - Northampton sophomore forward Briona McClain (Tobyhanna, PA/Pocono Mt. West ) has been named the NJCAA Division III Women's Basketball Player of the Week, as announced today by the national office. 

McClain averaged 16 points and 20 rebounds as the nationally-ranked Spartans went 2-0 last week, downing Philadelphia 63-54 and Sussex County Community College 54-35, to remain undefeated in Region 19. 

McClain, who also earned EPAC Player of the Week honors, is currently second in the country in rebounding at 16.0 rebounds per game and averages 12.1 points per game for the 7-3 Spartans. 

Northampton returns to action on Thursday night when they travel to NJCAA Division II Lackawanna College for a 5pm tip.
