BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Northampton's Marcus Nales (Bethlehem, PA/Liberty) smashed 2 homeruns and and had a run-scoring double, but it wasn't enough as the Falcons of Lackawanna College downed the Spartans 9-8 on Thursday afternoon at Spartan Park. 

Nales finished 3 for 3 with 3 RBI,and Jordan King (York, PA/Central York) was 2 for 4 with 3 RBI and a HR to pace the Spartans. 

Evan Zwolenik (Northampton, PA/Northampton) went 5 innings, allowing 6 runs on 9 hits, striking out 7.  Jordan Livingston (Stroudsburg, PA/Stroudsburg) took the loss in relief, throwing 2 innings, allowing 4 hits, 3 runs (1 earned) with 4 strikeouts and 3 walks.  Francesco Greco (Norwalk, CT/Brien McMahon (CT)) finished off the final 2 innings, allowing 1 hit, no runs and fanning 1. 

The Spartans, who are receiving votes in the latest NJCAA Division III poll, fall to 11-6 overall. 

Division II Lackawanna College improves to 22-7 overall. 

Northampton is back in action on Saturday when they host Central Penn College in a doubleheader slated to start at noon.
