Finkbiner's Walk-Off Leads Spartans Over Keystone JV

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Adam Finkbiner (Nazareth, PA/Nazareth) lined a one out, bases-loaded double into right field to give the Northampton Baseball team their second walk-off victory of the weekend, downing Keystone JV, 12-11, in the second game of their doubleheader on Saturday at Spartan Park. 

GAME ONE - Lost 5-2
The Spartans dropped game one of the doubleheader, as the Giants scored 2 runs in the 6th and 2 in the 7th to overcome a 2-1 deficit and take the 5-2 victory. 

Kyle Morin (Northampton, PA/Northampton) got the Spartans on the board in the bottom of the 1st when he singled to left field, moved to second on a single from Jordan King (York, PA/Central York), advanced to third on a single from Collin Jensen (Garnet Valley, PA/Archmere Academy (DE)) and scored on a wild pitch. 

The Giants tied the game in the second, but the Spartans regained the lead in the bottom of the 4th as Marcus Nales (Bethlehem, PA/Liberty) laced a double, advanced to third on a Jacob Yurkovitch (Pen Argyl, PA/Notre Dame - Green Pond) ground out and then scored a on ground out from Sean Granahan (Sinking Spring, PA/Wilson West Lawn)

Colby Butczynski (Nanticoke, PA/Greater Nanticoke Area) took the loss, allowing 5 runs on 8 hits over 6.2 innings, striking out 7 and walking two.  Tylar Patrick (Barrie, Ontario/Barrie North Collegiate) came on in relief in with two outs in the 7th and the Spartans trailing 3-2 and threw a wild pitch that scored Bobby Pokorney, Patrick then walked Evan Fallwell before Luis Francisico lined a single to center scoring Easley De La Cruz to make it 5-2 Keystone. 

The Spartans finished with 8 hits by eight different players, Morin finished 1 for 2 with a walk and a run scored. 

GAME TWO - Won 12-11
In a back and forth affair, the Spartans jumped out early, as Isaiah Lockette (Steelton, PA/Steelton-Highspire) homered in the first inning, scoring two runs.  

The Spartans added 5 runs in the 3rd, led by Jordan Siket (Pottstown, PA/Owen J. Roberts), Jordan King (York, PA/Central York) and Lockette, each driving in runs in the inning. 

Keystone tied the game at 10 in the 6th and took the lead in the 7th, at 11-10, leading toe Finkbiner's heroics.  Collin Jensen (Garnet Valley, PA/Archmere Academy (DE)) led off the bottom of the 7th with a single, followed by a Marcus Nales (Bethlehem, PA/Liberty) walk and a Jacob Yurkovitch (Pen Argyl, PA/Notre Dame - Green Pond) bunt single to load the bases for Finkbiner.  Finkbiner then drove the 1-1 pitch into right field for the walk-off victory. 

Jordan Livingston (Stroudsburg, PA/Stroudsburg) earned the win in relief of Francesco Greco (Norwalk, CT/Brien McMahon (CT)).  Livingston went 2.1 innings, allowing 2 runs on 5 hits, striking out 4.  Greco pitched 4.2 innings, allwoing 9 runs (7 earned) on 11 hits, with 6 strikeouts. 

Colin Gehringer (Exeter, PA/Exeter) finished 3 for 5, Jordan Siket (Pottstown, PA/Owen J. Roberts) was 1 for 3 with 3 RBI and Finkbiner was 2 for 2 with 2 RBI to lead Northampton. 

The split puts Northampton at 14-7 overall. 

The Spartans travel to Blackwood, NJ on Tuesday to face Camden County College in a single 9-inning contest, slated for 3:00pm.
