BLACKWOOD, NJ - The Northampton Baseball team collected 18 hits on Tuesday afternoon in their 16-11 victory over Camden County College at Cougar Park, improving to 6-0 in Region 19 action.
Jordan King (York, PA/Central York) got the Spartans on the board in the 1st inning when he homered on 2-1 count, scoring two runs.
Camden led 5-3 entering the 6th inning when the Spartans exploded for 10 runs, blowing the game open, highlighted by a
Collin Jensen (Garnet Valley, PA/Archmere Academy (DE)) 3-run single.
Patrick Flynn (Easton, PA/Notre Dame - Green Pond) earned the win in relief of
Evan Zwolenik (Northampton, PA/Northampton), throwing 2 innings, allowing 6 runs on 4 hits, walking 5 and striking out 2. Zwolenik went 4 innings, allowing 5 runs on 7 hits with 1 strikeout and 3 walks.
Cade Horwath (Bethlehem, PA/Freedom) and
Jordan Livingston (Stroudsburg, PA/Stroudsburg) finished off the game for Northampton, combining for 3 innings of work, allowing no runs, 2 hits and striking out 5.
Jordan King (York, PA/Central York) finished 2 for 6 with 3 RBI and 2 runs scored,
Colin Gehringer (Exeter, PA/Exeter) had 3 RBI and 3 hits, and
Adam Finkbiner (Nazareth, PA/Nazareth) went 3 for 4 with 3 RBI to pace Northampton.
The win moves Northampton to 15-7 overall, while Camden falls to 4-21.
The Spartans are off until Saturday when they host Sussex County Community College in a doubleheader slated for 12pm.
