BETHLEHEM, Pa. -
Jordan Appleton (Nazareth, PA/Notre Dame - Green Pond) recorded a team-high 23 kills, but it wasn't enough as the Northampton Volleyball team dropped a 3-1 decision to Harrisburg Area Community College on Monday evening, falling 6-25, 25-23, 23-25, 18-25.
Appleton added 15 digs and 3 solo blocks,
Jennique Herrera (Plainfield Township, PA/Pen Argyl) added 5 kills and 28 digs,
Tiah Fontno (Easton, PA/Easton) had 17 digs,
Theresa Crimi (Nazareth, PA/Notre Dame - Green Pond)Â recorded 26 assists and 15 digs and libero
Meghan Speshok (Easton, PA/Easton)Â registered 42 digs.Â
"Definitely our best overall effort of the year," remarked Head Coach
Rachael Caywood, "We came out slow in the opener, but once we got a little momentum, we really stated to click. The crowd was great tonight, they made it an awesome environment ... I would like to thank the men's soccer team and women's basketball team for their support."
The loss drops Northampton to 0-5 overall and 0-2 in Region 19.
Harrisburg improves to 2-1 overall.Â
The Spartans are scheduled to host Lackawanna College on Wednesday at 7pm.Â
