BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The 11th ranked Northampton men's basketball team eclipsed the 130 point mark for the second straight game, downing Lehigh Carbon Community College 133-65 on Tuesday evening at the Arthur L. Scott Center.
After hanging 134 points on Harrisburg Area Community College on Saturday, the Spartans stayed hot, shooting 60.2% from the field (53/88) with 6 players finishing in double figures.
Zykir Williams (Philadelphia, PA/Boys Latin Charter ) led the charge with 26, followed by
Jymir Thompson (Philadelphia, PA/Dobbins Tech) with 19,
Erron Archie (Reading, PA /Muhlenberg) 18,
Gary Francis (Morrisville, PA/Pennsbury) 17,
Keenan Roberts (Harrisburg, PA/Central Dauphin) 13 and
Michael Marable (Harrisburg, PA/Susquehanna Twp.) with 10. Williams added a team-high 11 rebounds, while
Amyr Fox (Harrisburg, PA/Central Dauphin East ) dished out a game-high 8 assists.
The win moves Northampton to 13-2 overall, 4-1 in Region 19 and 4-1 in the EPAC.
Northampton has now won 9 straight vs. the Cougars and leads the all-time series 16 to 6.
LCCC falls to 1-11 overall, 0-8 in the Region and 0-6 in conference. Patrick Foley led the Cougars with 24 points.
The Spartans return to action on Thursday when they travel to Edison, NJ to face Middlesex College. Tip-off is currently set for 7pm, but may be moved to 6pm due to no women's game being played. We will send updates via social media if the time changes.
