SEWELL, NJ - The Northampton women's volleyball team swept their Region 19 tri-match on Saturday, downing host RCSJ-Glocuester 25-5, 25-8, 25-11 and Bergen Community College 25-11, 25-16, 25-11.
Ayana Bomani (Bethlehem, PA/Liberty) recorded 14 kills vs. the Roadrunners in Northampton's first match of the day, while
Jordan Appleton (Langhorne, PA/Notre Dame Green Pond) notched 7 kills and 8 digs.
Alexandra Bosco (Hellertown, PA/Saucon Valley) was credited with 22 assists, as Northampton improved to 14-1 overall and 7-1 in the Region.
RCSJ-Gloucester fell to 1-12 overall and 1-11 in Region 19.
In the Bergen match,
Jordan Appleton (Langhorne, PA/Notre Dame Green Pond) recorded 11 kills, 14 digs and 2 service aces and
Ayana Bomani (Bethlehem, PA/Liberty) had 11 kills, 12 digs, 2 blocks and 2 block assists.
Theresa Crimi (Nazareth, PA/Notre Dame Green Pond) added 16 digs and 5 service aces, while
Alexandra Bosco (Hellertown, PA/Saucon Valley) registered 27 assists and 9 digs.
Northampton improves to 15-1 overall and 8-1 in Region 19 with the win, while Bergen falls to 5-10 overall and 4-8 in Region 19.
The Spartans travel to Harrisburg on Monday to face undefeated 4th ranked Harrisburg Area Community College at 6pm.
