BETHLEHEM, Pa. - After opening the season with a 3-1 loss to Harrisburg, the Northampton women's volleyball team has run off 11 consecutive victories, including a 3-0 (25-8, 25-8, 25-18) triumph over Lackawanna College on Thursday evening at the Spartan Center.
Jordan Appleton (Langhorne, PA/Notre Dame Green Pond) led the charge on sophomore night, racking up 13 kills and 13 digs, while classmate
Theresa Crimi (Nazareth, PA/Notre Dame Green Pond) had 17 digs, 5 service aces and 1 assist.
"I'm happy to pick-up our 3rd win in 3 days, but I am looking forward to the short break we have coming up," commented Head Coach
Rachael Caywood, "the few days off will be good for us to heal up and get through midterm exams."
Ayanna Bomani recorded 6 kills and 13 digs,
Joy Wetzel (Bethlehem, PA/Bethlehem Catholic ) had 8 kills and 2 blocks and
Alexandra Bosco (Hellertown, PA/Saucon Valley) notched 29 assists to lead the Spartans.
The win moves Northampton to 12-1 overall, while Lackawanna falls to 2-8.
The Spartans are now off until October 13 when they travel to Division II Del Tech for a 6pm match vs. the Squares.
