BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The 7th ranked Northampton men's basketball team won their 7th consecutive game on Tuesday evening, downing the Hawks of Harrisburg Area Community College 99-47 at the Arthur L. Scott Center.
The Spartans jumped out to a commanding 49-17 lead at the break and never looked back in improving to 20-2 all-time vs. Harrisburg.
12 Spartans scored at least one point, with five reaching double-figures, as Northampton shot 51% from the floor (45-88).
Keein Ward (Harrisburg, PA/Susquehanna) had 12 points and 10 rebounds and
Alejandro Beriquete (Lancaster, PA/Milton Hershey) finished with 12 points and 4 rebounds as the Spartans won the rebounding battle 49 to 32.
The win moves Northampton to 9-1 overall, 5-0 in Region 19 and 5-0 in the EPAC.
Harrisburg falls to 1-6 overall, 1-5 in the Region and 1-5 in conference play.
The Spartans are back in action on Thursday when they travel to Paterson, NJ to face the Panthers of Passaic County Community College at 7pm.
