BETHLEHEM, Pa. - 10th ranked RCSJ-Gloucester used timely hitting, strong pitching and solid defense to sweep a doubleheader from Northampton on Sunday at Spartan Field.

Game 1 - RCSJ Gloucester 14 | Northampton 2
In game one, the Roadrunners jumped on Northampton quickly, scoring 6 runs in the top of the 1st inning.  Northampton responded with 2 runs in the bottom of the 1st, as Siera Klingle's (East Bangor, PA/Bangor) double off the wall knocked home Regina Bangcoro (Easton, PA /Easton) and Makaylah Sutton's (Avenel, NJ/Colonia) single scored Klingle. 

The Spartans were unable to manufacture any more runs in the game, collecting only 5 hits total, while committing 6 errors. 

Bridget Pavelko (Bethlehem, PA /Notre Dame - Green Pond ) took the loss, allowing 14 runs (4 earned) in 3.2 innings of work, striking out 2 and walking 5.  Siera Klingle (East Bangor, PA/Bangor) worked the last 1.1 innings, allowing no runs on just 1 hit. 

Game 2 - RCSJ Gloucester 14 | Northampton 0
The visitors started quickly again, scoring 7 runs in the top of the 1st, followed by 6 in the 3rd and one in the 5th to earn the 14-0 victory. 

Northampton only had 3 hits in the game, with Makaylah Sutton (Avenel, NJ/Colonia), Sophia Iovino (Bethlehem, PA/Bethlehem Catholic) and Destiny Koppenhaver (Bethlehem, PA/Commonwealth Charter ) each singled for the Spartans. 

Siera Klingle (East Bangor, PA/Bangor) took the loss, allowing 8 runs (1 earned) on 7 hits in 1.1 innings of work.  Regina Bangcoro (Easton, PA /Easton) pitched the final 3.2 innings, allowing 6 runs (4 earned) with 4 strikeouts. 

The losses drop Northampton to 7-9 in Region 19 and 8-16 overall. 

RCSJ-Gloucester improves to 32-17 overall and 13-3 in Region 19. 

The Spartans return to the diamond on Tuesday when they host Lehigh Carbon Community College at 3:30pm in a Region 19 doubleheader.
