BETHLEHEM, Pa. - 10th ranked RCSJ-Gloucester used timely hitting, strong pitching and solid defense to sweep a doubleheader from Northampton on Sunday at Spartan Field.
Game 1 - RCSJ Gloucester 14 | Northampton 2
In game one, the Roadrunners jumped on Northampton quickly, scoring 6 runs in the top of the 1st inning. Northampton responded with 2 runs in the bottom of the 1st, as
Siera Klingle's (East Bangor, PA/Bangor) double off the wall knocked home
Regina Bangcoro (Easton, PA /Easton) and
Makaylah Sutton's (Avenel, NJ/Colonia) single scored Klingle.
The Spartans were unable to manufacture any more runs in the game, collecting only 5 hits total, while committing 6 errors.
Bridget Pavelko (Bethlehem, PA /Notre Dame - Green Pond ) took the loss, allowing 14 runs (4 earned) in 3.2 innings of work, striking out 2 and walking 5.
