BLUE BELL, Pa. - The Northampton women's volleyball team improved to 2-1 on the season with a convincing 3-0 sweep of Montgomery County Community College on Tuesday evening at the Health Sciences Center on the Montgomery Campus.
The Spartans took the first set 25-15, second set 25-12 and final set 25-14.
Jordan Appleton (Langhorne, PA/Notre Dame Green Pond) led the Spartans with 12 kills, 11 digs, 5 service aces and 2 blocks.
Freshman
Ayana Bomani (Bethlehem, PA/Liberty) added 11 kills, 20 digs and 6 blocks,
Theresa Crimi (Nazareth, PA/Notre Dame Green Pond) recorded 12 digs and
Meghan Speshok (Easton, PA/Easton) finished with 25 assists and 8 digs.
"I was really pleased with our performance tonight," commented 2nd year Head Coach
Rachael Caywood, "I thought we came out and established ourselves early and were able to pick up a big road victory."
The win moves Northampton to 2-1 overall, 2-1 in Region 19 and 2-1 in the EPAC.
Montgomery falls to 1-1 on the season.
The Spartans are back in action on Thursday evening when they host NJCAA Division II Harcum College at 7pm.
