Box Score PARAMUS, NJ - The Northampton women's basketball team opened the Spring semester with a dominating performance, downing Bergen Community College 100-33 on Thursday evening at the Dawg Pound. 
The Spartans, who had not played since December 13th, jumped out to a 44-13 halftime lead and cruised to the 67 point victory. 
Kania Day (East Stroudsburg, PA/East Stroudsburg South) led the Spartans with 21 points and 8 rebounds, while 
Shanaiya Ellis (Allentown, PA/William Allen) added 14 points off the bench. 
"I'm really proud of how the ladies were able to regroup after being off for a month," remarked Head Coach 
Terrence Bomar, "hopefully this will jump start us for a playoff push."
Three other Spartans scored in double figures, led by 
Shawneeta Simmons (Harrisburg, PA/Harrisburg-Sci Tech) and 
Alayna Day (Reading, PA/Muhlenburg) each with 12 and 
Anajah Hines (Wendell, NC/Corinth Holders) with 10. 
Madison Kluska (Bangor, PA/Bangor) pulled down a team-high 12 rebounds. 
The win moves Northampton to 7-5 overall and 3-2 in Region 19. 
Bergen falls to 1-12 overall and 0-8 in the Region.
The Spartans are back in action on Saturday when they host NJCAA Division II Raritan Valley Community College at 12pm at the Arthur L. Scott Spartan Center.
