BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Northampton men's soccer team continued their playoff push, downing visiting Lehigh Carbon Community College, 2-0, on Thursday afternoon at Spartan Field.
Gershon Bangura (Greencastle, PA/Greencastle-Antrim) got the Spartans on the board in the 1st half, knocking home a through pass from
Cael Anderko (Moore Township, PA/Northampton) at the 30 minute mark for a 1-0 advantage.
After 25 minutes of scoreless soccer, Anderko was taken down in the box and Bangura converted the ensuing penalty kick for a 2-0 Spartan lead.

John Stier (Northampton, PA/Northampton) controlled the backline and held the Cougars scoreless, notching their 2nd shutout of the season.
The win propels the Spartans to 4-6-1 overall, 3-4-1 in Region 19 and 3-2-1 in the EPAC.
Lehigh Carbon falls to 3-9-1 overall, 2-5-0 in Region and 2-4-0 in conference play.
Northampton improves to 16-1-1 all-time vs. Lehigh Carbon.
The Spartans are back in action on Saturday when they host Harrisburg at 12pm.
