DOVER, De. - The 14th ranked Northampton women's volleyball team shook off a slow start to rebound and defeat NJCAA Division II Delaware Technical & Community College 3-1, (22-25, 25-16, 25-19, 25-18), on Saturday afternoon in Delaware.
"It took us a set to get going," remarked Head Coach
Rachael Caywood, "but once we got into flow, we played much better."
Ayana Bomani (Bethlehem, PA/Liberty) had 8 kills, 2 service aces and 6 blocks, while
Joy Wetzel (Bath, PA/Bethlehem Catholic) added 7 kills and 5 blocks.
Leana Angelone (Coopersburg, PA/Faith Christian Academy) was credited with 24 assists, 4 service aces and 9 digs.
Northampton improves to 6-0 vs. NJCAA Division II programs and is now 12-0 overall.
Del Tech falls to 7-10 on the season.
The Spartans will close out the regular season on Tuesday night in Schnecksville, PA when they face the Cougars of Lehigh Carbon at 6pm.
