BLUE BELL, Pa. - The Northampton men's soccer team dropped a Region 19 match-up at Montgomery County Community College on Thursday afternoon, falling to the Mustangs, 4-1.
Ben Lare got the Mustangs on the board just 7 minutes into the game, heading home a corner kick for the 1-0 advantage. 30 minutes later, a Spartan foul in the box led to a penalty kick, which was converted by Pedro Louissaint, for a 2-0 Mustang lead.
Louissant completed a hat trick in the 2nd half, converting his 2nd goal at the 63 minute mark and 5 minutes later he outran the Spartan defense to give Montgomery a commanding 4-0 lead.
Ismaila Jallow (Gambia/West African International School) scored off a free kick at the 76 minute mark to provide the offense for Northampton.
Colston Jasionowski (Easton, PA/Bethlehem Catholic) recorded 9 saves in the goal for the Spartans.
The loss drops Northampton to 2-5-1 overall, 1-3-1 in Region 19 and 1-2-1 in the EPAC.
Montgomery improves to 9-1-0 overall, 7-1-0 in the Region and 6-0-0 in conference play.
Northampton is home on Saturday as they host Delaware County Community College at 12pm.
