Men's Basketball Tops RCSJ-Cumberland for 5th Straight Victory

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Northampton men's basketball team won their 5th consecutive game, downing RCSJ-Cumberland 81-48 on Tuesday evening at the Arthur L. Scott Center. 

The Spartans controlled the tempo in a low scoring first half, taking a 28-17 lead to the locker room at intermission, holding the Dukes to just 7 of 30 from the floor. 

The offensive floodgates opened in the second 20 minutes for Northampton as they converted 20 of 32 field goal attempts, en route to 53 points.  The Spartans led wire to wire, with their biggest lead ballooning to 38 points with 2:04 remaining in the contest. 

CJ Miles (Bangor, PA/Bangor) led the Spartans with 17 points and 7 assists, Nile Mosby (Philadelphia, PA/Carver Engineering & Sciences) had 13 points and 13 rebounds and Naeem Purnell (Darby, PA/Penn Wood) added 10 points and 4 steals. 

The win moves 13th ranked Northampton to 5-2 overall and 4-0 in Region 19.

RCSJ-Cumberland falls to 0-4 overall and 0-3 in the Region. 

The Spartans return to action after the Thanksgiving break on Tuesday November 28th when they host the Hawks of Harrisburg Area Community College at 7pm.
