BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The 4th ranked Northampton men's basketball team finished the EPAC regular season with a perfect 12-0 record, downing Delaware County Community College 102-59, on Tuesday evening at the Arthur L. Scott Center, for their 16th consecutive victory.
The Spartans led by 32 at halftime and cruised to the the 43 point victory. Northampton held the Phantoms to 27% shooting from the field and forced 24 turnovers.
"I thought our defensive intensity was very good tonight," remarked Head Coach
Brennan McCarthy, "it allowed us to get out and run and we did a great job sharing the ball, with 24 assists on 38 field goals."
Keenan Roberts Jr. (Harrisburg, PA/Central Dauphin) scored 21 points and grabbed 10 rebounds and
Mike Marable (Harrisburg, PA/Susquehanna) added 19 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists to pace the Spartan attack.
CJ Miles (Bangor, PA/Bangor) had 17 points and
Xavier Goodman (Kutztown, PA/Kutztown) recorded 4 steals for Northampton.
The win moves Northampton to 25-2 overall, 18-1 in Region 19 and 12-0 in the EPAC.
Delaware falls to 3-16 overall, 3-10 in Region 19 and 3-8 in conference play.
Northampton is back on the hardwood on Saturday when they close out the regular season hosting Middlesex College at 2pm.
