BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The 4th ranked Northampton men's basketball team wrapped up their regular season with an 82-65 victory over Middlesex College on Saturday afternoon at the Spartan Center, finishing the regular season on a 17-game winning streak.
The Spartans, who led 47-28 at halftime, shot 56% for the game, while holding the Colts to just 36% (22 of 61). "Our guys take pride in our defensive field goal percentage," remarked Head Coach
Brennan McCarthy, "that has been a point of pride this season with us leading the country in that stat."
Titus Wilkins (Easton, PA/Executive Education Academy Charter) led five players in double figures for Northampton with 23 points, followed by
Mike Marable (Harrisburg, PA/Susquehanna) with 16,
Keenan Roberts Jr. (Harrisburg, PA/Central Dauphin) 15, and
Tyrese Fuller (Harrisburg, PA/Central Dauphin) and
CJ Miles (Bangor, PA/Bangor) with 12 each. Marable led the Spartans on the glass with 11 rebounds and Wilkins added 9.
The Spartans stretched the lead to 24 points in the second half, as they finished with 44 points in the paint.
Prior to the game, the team honored sophomores

Tyrese Fuller (Harrisburg, PA/Central Dauphin),
Keenan Roberts Jr. (Harrisburg, PA/Central Dauphin),
Christion Johnson (Philadelphia, PA/Monsignor Bonner & Archbishop Prendergast),
Amir Johnson (Morrisville, PA/Pennsbury), and
Michael Mish (Leesport, PA/Schuylkill Valley), who were playing their final regular season home game.
The win elevates Northampton to 26-2 overall and 19-1 in Region 19.
Middlesex falls to 14-15 overall and 13-12 in the Region.
The Spartans will now await the seeding for the upcoming Region 19 tournament, which will be released on February 22nd, to find out their next opponent.
